(One of yours truly's many admirers)
And that's it.
The couch is now on the truck to Goodwill, but don't worry-- I made sure I fished out all the loose change and incriminating evidence before I let 'em take it. And it was full of the latter: 118 movie quizzes, countless sound files and stupid pictures, and more writing than I've ever done in one place in my life.
The best thing about doing this blog for the past three-plus years has been hearing from some of the people who saw it. Out of the dozens who got in touch, I can count the number of assholes on the fingers of one hand, and if I left out those who are also my friends, that number would be cut in half. Everybody else was a delight, and I appreciated hearing from all of you.
(By the way, as soon as my friend and CP web guru Karl starts his work day, the "Comments" feature will be turned on for this entry! So please check back and leave one-- I hear that telling me off in public is always much more enjoyable than doing it by e-mail.)
I'd like to be able tell you where to find me next, but there isn't anyplace, at least not yet. I doubt I'll be off-line for long, though, so stay tuned.(And wish me luck with the novel I'm working on, The Thing That Pukes in the Night, coming soon to a slush pile near you.)
But for now . . . this is my swan song. See ya.

Steve,
"Comments" are turned on, my friend! Good luck and do keep in touch. We shall miss you at citypages.com.

Happy trails dude. Someday we'll meet again at that great Jimmy Smith circle jerk in the sky!

Steve, Couch Pundit was a great addition to citypages.com and I'm sad to see you go. Your writing was hilarious, your hatred of Bob Hope sacred and true, and the Monday Movie Quizzes were great (I can't believe that last photo didn't feature a Sean Connery mask in the middle - can you see it?). I hope our paths cross again some day. Let us know where you set up shop.

Well there goes one of my Monday's must reads :o(
And to think I knew the answer to the last quiz and forget to submit!
Don't forget to program your TIVO for this fall's Most. Controversial. Survivor. Ever.

Steve,
I second Dean's comment on Monday morning must reads. Week after week you made me dig deep into the jumble of film trivia that clutters my mind. In the last three years I've also come to call you friend.
Oh, and kudos on the cover story!

Steve,
Why do I have the feeling that Clarabell the Clown is going to wind up saying, "I could eat a knob at night" at any moment?
In the jumble of my own mad series of deadlines, I've strived to add your weekly challenge to the pie, and may have been the only regular to wind up the ONLY correct respondent one week, just in case anyone wonders why "He recognized Peking Opera Blues" may end up on my tombstone.
You've made it fun to go to the trouble of figuring out which Neville Brand film you'd grabbed a frame from, or recalling the SECOND cut to the Goldfinger soundtrack. Even blowing the question was okay because there was always the anticipation of finding out what you'd have to say about the film in question when the answer arrived.
Well, the couch is gone before it jumped the shark, but I have a hunch the compulsive trivia-mongering between you and the clique will only go quietly underground, where the esoterica and sarcasm will reach levels too obscure and depraved for general consumption. God knows I'm already there, but it's nice to have a last chance to be a part of this one-of-a-kind blog and say a good word in public for the guy who made it happen. Best of luck, Steve, and thanks for all of this.

Good luck to you, and remember: You are a part of the circus of Dr. Lao...

Happy trails. My misery of your departure is compounded with the regret that I didn't discover Couch Pundit earlier.

I just stumbled in looking for a "Man from Mars."
I found a lot more. I hope to find you again soon.
