"Listen," a friend of ours said recently, "Rudy Giuliani is an utterly authoritarian personality, but he's just too weird for the Republicans. When he split up with his wife and moved out of the mansion, he was staying in midtown for a while in the home of a couple of gay guys. You think these Republicans would stand for that kind of behavior?"
Here, from James Ridgeway writing in the Village Voice, is further evidence (post-Kerik blowup) that our friend was right.
