That minimum-wage job is just for the summer, right?

Categories: General Archive
In an interview posted on mnpact.org, Minnesota Speaker of the House Steve Sviggum defends his decision to send the minimum-wage bill back to committee, says minimum-wage workers are mostly students "getting a little extra spending money," and repeatedly uses the interviewer's name (Dave) in an ineffective salesman-like effort to close the deal on his biggest sales pitch ever. Oh, Rep. Sviggum. Don't you remember that 49,000 Minnesotans earned $5.15 an hour or less in 2004, Rep. Sviggum?
