Crime blotter: America's finest

Categories: Crime

On September 24th, a St. Paul police officer was dispatched to a residence on Margaret Street to investigate a motor vehicle theft. Upon arrival, the cop was informed that Kyle Brady Clark had taken the victim's 1990 Chevrolet Lumina without permission. The woman further told the officer, according to a criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court, that Clark was a friend and neighbor of hers. In fact he had been at her home that evening planning a party to commemorate his impending deployment to Iraq.

Clark was subsequently located by police walking on East 6th Street. He admitted taking the vehicle, but could not account for its present location. He informed the cop that he'd given the Chevrolet to a dude named either "Johnaho" or "Jonathan" to drive to the Super America. Unfortunately the man failed to return with the vehicle.

Clark was charged last month with theft of a motor vehicle. He faces up to five years in prison.

The criminal complaint does not reveal what became of the car or whether Clark will still be deployed to spread democracy in Iraq.
