Dead air: O'Connell and Rosenbaum depart AM 1500

The most informed, intelligent local talk radio show is no more. Ron Rosenbaum and Mark O'Connell, who have co-hosted a show on KSTP (AM 1500) since the aftermath of 9/11, are just finishing their final shift. The program was notable for its aversion to partisan cant and facile treatment of issues that generally dominates talk radio. The hosts espoused a libertarian-leaning philosophy that was mainly reflected in their instinctive distrust of anyone with power. Rosenbaum and O'Connell are saying their goodbyes on the air right now.
