Department of gratuitous irony: Judge slaps Kiffmeyer upside the head on election day

This morning, Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer ruled that a number of University of Minnesota students could not vote by proving their residence through utility bills, in apparent contradiction to the provisions of Minnesota's same-day voter registration law. This afternoon, a judge overruled Kiffmeyer and declared the students were indeed eligible to vote. No word yet on the number of ballots in question.
