Steve Perry joins Minnesota Monitor

The Daily Mole goes on hiatus

Former CP editor Steve Perry announced today that, as rumored, he'll be joining Minnesota Monitor as the site's editorial director. This means that his fledgling, incisive news-gossip site The Daily Mole will cease operations at least temporarily.

"Trying to raise start-up funding in this climate has not been so gratifying," Perry writes on the site. "Neither has working in relative isolation every day as we bootstrapped the start-up."

Most importantly, this raises the question of what will become of Jimmy Gaines' brilliant Dude Weather forecasts. Reached by phone, Gaines vows that the show will go on. "Dude Weather is gonna move," he says. "I don't know where. Do you think the weather's gonna stop?"
