Michele Bachmann Comes Out Against Four-Day School Week

Looking to save some bucks on fuel, a school district in western Minnesota is switching to a four-day school week. Leave it to Minnesota’s favorite wingnut to frame the move as an example of liberal treachery/ineptitude/what have you. Writes Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-6th District) on her blog:

Another fine example of the everyday impact of the Democrat Congress' failure to address the issue of energy with any substantial piece of legislation. Sadly, our school districts are putting into practice the close relative of the gas plan of Barack Obama and other Democrats -- "get off the road and drive less." What's next, staying home from school all together? This is no solution.

She’s right. Staying home is no solution. Unless, of course, the problem is a secularized curriculum. In which case, staying home is the perfect solution— every one of Bachmann’s biological children was homeschooled. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Bachmann has it just right.

In fact, she has let the Democrat party off the hook by not mentioning the consequences of the incestious relationship that it has maintained with the teachers union.

If taxpayers were not saddled with the burden of the costs of keeping a blue collar trade labor union in control of the public schools, not only would they have enough money to get the kids to school, the kids might actually learn something once they got there!

Kudos to Rep. Bachmann.

Bachmann continues to demonstrate her complete ineptitude. Get off the road and drive less is a stupid solution? Right now it's the only solution. Her inane suggestions have been laughed at and ridiculed by everyone. It still amazes me that some people (see the previous poster who should with to remain anonymous) still fall for her tripe.

Government schools are mainly a daycare service. If they only have school 4 days a week, the parents are going to have to find somewhere to warehouse their children, or heaven forbid, take care of their children, and maybe even teach them something on the '5th day'.

The way her synapsis misfire when she thinks, she has to smoke pot. There's just no other way to explain ir. She's on the bong!

The shortage of funds couldn't possibly be due to Bush's ingenious No Child Left Behind policy which cuts funding to the schools that need it the most, could it? Of course not, only the Democrats do stupid things. Thanks for reminding me of that Michele.

I'm 21 now and she came to my political science class when I was in 11th grade. She compared gay marriage to a man getting married to a dolphin. Just sayin...

I am SO ashamed to have this lunatic make national news every day. It turns my stomach when people I speak to down here in Florida (where I now reside) say ask me "wow-are all Minnesotans really crazy people? What the hell has happened to my home state? A fake farmer, fake "doctor" and a fool...somebody get a rope.

I am thoroughly convinced that Michele Bachmann has glitter for brains.

She definitely has something for brains, but it's usually shoveled after being deposited on the road by horses.
