Battle of the sexes: women love Al Franken, men love Norm Coleman

The latest, in what has become a daily barrage of polls, show a continuing deadlock between Republican incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman and Democratic candidate Al Franken. But Franken, the supposed women-hating pornographer and former comedian, seems to have a stronghold on the female votes.

According to the Rasmussen poll released today, this race is the battle of the sexes. Female votes favor Franken 54 percent to 39 percent. Men favor Coleman by nearly identical numbers: 57 percent to 39 percent.

Across the state, Coleman is leading (if you can call it that) 48 percent to 47 percent with a 4.5 percent margin of error, according to a Sept. 19 poll. The Rasmussen poll from mid-August showed the two tied with 45 percent of the vote.

In times like these, polls seem pretty worthless. Pretty soon we will be updating polls every hour and still have it wrong by the time the polls actually close on Election Night. Pollsters leave all of us young cell phone users out of the mix, but you won't hear us complaining about the peace and quiet when we get home at night.
