Petters Group raided by feds
The Associated Press is reporting this morning that Petters Group headquarters in Minnetonka is currently undergoing a federal search warrant execution. Sun Country Airlines and Polaroid are some of Petters' holdings.
Details are scarce, but here is the AP report:
FBI spokesman Paul McCabe confirmed today that the FBI, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the IRS criminal investigative division and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service were all part of an ongoing investigation. He said agents today were executing the search warrant at 4400 Baker Road in Minnetonka, where Petters Group Worldwide is located.
McCabe says there have been no arrests.
A call by The Associated Press to the company's main number went unanswered.
Privately owned, Petters owns 20 different companies including a chain of discount stores, the Polaroid camera company, Sun Country Airlines and the Fingerhut catalog company.
Yikes. The FBI, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the IRS and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service? This doesn't look good. Unless the raid turns into a giant dud of confiscated urine.
