Coleman says Stevens should step down

Categories: Norm Coleman

Sen. Norm Coleman said at a campaign stop today that he thinks Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens should step down, according to the Pioneer Press. Stevens was convicted yesterday of seven counts of lying on his financial disclosure forms about gifts and home renovations he received.

More from the Pioneer Press:

"I think he's been tried and convicted," Coleman said at a campaign stop in Inver Grove Heights.

Coleman said he has returned any contributions he had received from Stevens or his political action committee for this year's election.

Sen. John McCain also asked Stevens to resign earlier today.
