Watch out Andover, someone your grandmother's age is running for mayor and she's on a mission--a mission not to win, but to be heard.

Strib reporter Paul Levy has a great story in today's paper about Rosella Sonsteby, who at 92, is running in her fourth mayoral election.

"Suppose I win?" she asked. "What would I do then?"

..."Around here, it's not what you know, but who you know -- and I can't stand it," she said.

Sonsteby ran for Anoka County commissioner two years ago but lost in the primary..."I meant business then and I mean business this time," she said. "There's one big clique here running things and I aim to shake things up." ...

"I talked to the League of Women Voters, told 'em I was runnin' for mayor and that's that," she said. "I told them I was tired of seeing people being taxed unfairly, tired of people who don't know what they're talking about making decisions about someone else's property.

Sonsteby is one of four candidates for Mayor of Andover. Her opponents include Eric Kohnke, 36; Richard Kulkey, 63, and incumbent Mike Gamache, 49. During Sonsteby's last run for mayor 10 years ago, she garnered about 26 percent of the vote.
