Outdoors amendment and Minneapolis school levy also win

It's tough to take your eyes off of the big races and bickering, but we wanted to pass along some other news from some of the other races and measures on the ballot.

Minneapolis approved their public school levy. According to the Star Tribune:

The measure asking for $60 million a year for eight years passed overwhelmingly, 70.9 percent to 29.1 percent.

Voters in Robbinsdale, Inver Grove Heights, Elk River and St. Louis Park also said yes their district's requests. Voters in Osseo, Buffalo, South St. Paul, Rockford and St. Francis said no.

The outdoors amendment also won, gaining more support than Barack Obama on the ballot:

Fifty-five percent of Minnesota voters gave their thumbs up to the constitutional amendment. When accounting for the "dropoff" in which no votes were recorded because voters didn't fill in their ovals, the support was 59 percent, said Molly Schultz, public policy director of the Minnesota Environmental Partnership.
