We never thought a random update post on 18-year-old Minnesota conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel would be such a big hit on CP Blotter, but apparently people can't get enough of these awesome young ladies. The replaying of their most recent TLC documentary nearly every week doesn't hurt us either.

We'd like to call this post our "Most Unexpected Hit Generator of 2008".

Best Minnesota Scandals of 2008

No need to waste time; here is our pick for best Minnesota Scandal of 2008:

orgy2.jpg

Minneapolis HIlton employees were busted this fall have one crazy evening of orgy in one of the hotel's banquet halls. While many of the reader comments celebrated such a risque evening of fun with coworkers, one witness and one participant weren't so cool with it. The two were eventually let go from the company after they raised complaints about the party. The lesson for 2009: Take a deep breath and have a little fun. It never hurt anyone to have one night you'd rather not tell you family about.

Vikings punter Chris Kluwe changing his name to World of Warcraft?

Vikings punter Chris Kluwe is so obsessed with uber-nerd video game World of Warcraft that he might just change his name to the game title. Why not right? It would be so totally hilarious and clever. Or completely insane.

Kluwe is being lauded as a "hero" online for his completely genius and not-funny idea today. On a recent broadcast of his show on radio station 93X, Kluwe mentioned floating the idea with his bosses at the station, but they told him "World of Warcraft" was just too long for a name.

Bachmann takes No. 5 spot on British "America's Hall of Shame" list

Rep. Michele Bachmann, our favorite crazy congresswoman, is not only embarrassing us in the United States. Her smarts have led to her making even international lists of shame.

Bachmann received the No. 5 spot in the British newspaper, the Guardian. Madoff, Palin, Bush, and Blagojevich topped Bachmann on "America's Hall of Shame". In case you have been living under a rock, Bachmann received the honors after she said the media should investigate members of Congress for anti-American views. The Guardian says it was the "single most appalling political statement of the year".

Someone stole baby Jesus, safe rides donor busted for drunk driving

Categories: Weird Wisconsin
Wild week in Wisconsin. We've got baby Jesus snatchers, guys filming their naked girlfriends and Amish farmers being charged for unregistered animals. A New Year's resolution for our kind state to the east: Fix your residents.

MADISON -- A Wisconsin appeals court says people do not automatically have the right to videotape others who are naked in their presence. The 4th District Court of Appeals ruling comes in the case of a former Waunakee High School chemistry teacher who videotaped his girlfriend while she was naked and also while they were having sex. He argued that she agreed to be naked around him, therefore she had no expectation of privacy.

Incoming NRSC chairman says Franken "falsely declaring victory"

When Al Franken kind-of-sort-of-a-little-bit declared victory yesterday, we knew the Republicans wouldn't stay quiet. Instead of making an intelligent response that makes Franken look foolish for even talking victory just yet, they decide to spin and mislead and confuse the heck out of everyone. Fail.

Check out the statement from U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, incoming-Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), below.

Frozen Minnehaha Falls

When the Minnehaha Falls have a stronger summer and fall, the frozen version is much more spectacular. We have to admit this still looks pretty cool. If you decide to go adventuring on the ice, don't be stupid. It's still ice and a fall from the ledges wouldn't feel so good when you hit the bottom. Oh, and the police might bust you.

Franken vs. Coleman: Cherry-picking absentee votes

The battle between Al Franken and Norm Coleman during the Senate recount is really heating up. Are we at the breaking point yet?

The candidates sorted through the absentee ballots deemed wrongly rejected by local election officials to determine which should be counted in the final tally. The candidates did this based on a Minnesota Supreme Court decision, which gives the campaigns veto power on the ballots.

Coleman's campaign has decided to veto many of the absentee ballots, which means he looks like a flat-out cherry picker. His choices to reject more ballots in the blue districts could be a coincidence, but Minnesotans aren't giving the candidates much slack anymore.
