Bachmann nominated for Congress "Master of Self-Destruction"

Categories: Notable MN

Rep. Michele Bachmann received the much-coveted nomination for Congress "Master of Self-Destruction" in Stuart Rothenberg's annual Congressional End of Year Awards. Congrats Bachmann!

Other Minnesotans made the list too. Check it out below.

Master of Self-Destruction nominees:
Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)
Tim Mahoney (D-Fla.)
Ted Stevens (R-Alaska)
Tom Feeney (R-Fla.)
Jon Powers (D-N.Y.)
Bill Sali (R-Idaho)

Bachmann was eliminated from the race despite her nomination because she was able to win reelection despite her infamous Hardball interview with Chris Matthews.

Two other Minnesotans received nominations.

Strongest Republican swimmer against the tide nominees:
Dave Reichert (R-Wash.)
Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.)
Susan Collins (R-Maine)
Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)
Chris Lee (R-N.Y.)

Paulsen received the nomination after beating Ashwin Madia in a race consistently labeled a toss up that received a lot of national funds from the Democrats.

Time to stop running nominees:
Mike Sodrel (R-Ind.)
Larry LaRocco (D-Idaho)
Duane Sand (R-N.D.)
Elwyn Tinklenberg (D-Minn.)
Linda Stender (D-N.J.)
Jim Oberweis (R-Ill.)
Victoria Wulsin (D-Ohio)

Rothenberg doesn't explain his nomination for Tinklenberg, but we can assume it's because he still lost the race despite running against total nutso Bachmann. No excuses!
