Hartnett wins damages after false UK tabloid sex story

We'd love to add Minnesota-raised heartthrob Josh Hartnett to our running list of locals getting busy in public (bathrooms and hotels only) but it turns out the story published in a UK tabloid about Hartnett's wild public sex was false.

Hartnett, 30, won 20,000 pounds ($30,000) in libel damages from tabloid Daily Mirror after they reported on his alleged "steamy shenanigans" at a London hotel library with an unknown woman, the Associated Press reports

Hartnett plans to donate the money to charity.

More from the BBC:
His lawyer Graham Atkins told London's High Court the paper had accepted the allegations were "entirely false".
Mr Justice Eady was told that the action had been brought after the publication of a story on 1 September with the headline "Josh Hartnett's saucy CCTV romp".
Victoria Jolliffe, for the Mirror, said the paper hoped "the record will have been set straight and the claimant's reputation restored. The defendant offers its apologies to the claimant for any distress, hurt and embarrassment caused by the article."
