U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, DFL-Minneapolis, was booed by a crowd of protesters who are sympathetic to the Palestinian cause in the Middle East. The rally was at the state Capitol last week.
The crowd started to boo him after he proclaimed that he would not condemn either side and is supportive of a cease fire and peace from both sides. This speech came after Ellison was interviewed on Al Jazeera discussing the conflict. Ellison voted "present" on a House resolution supporting Israel.
Watch the video of Ellison at the rally below.
It's unfortunate these protesters don't understand that Ellison is at least standing up for Palestine in some way, while not completely. His stance on the issue is a rare one in the House of Representatives, which strongly passed their resolution of support for Israel.
For some time, the situation in Israel has been similar to the situation in Germany in the 1930s. A majority oppressing a minority, stealing the minority's property and forcing the minority into ghettos. Even the Israeli prime minister has acknowledged the "pogrom."
But the next step wasn't to force the minority to wear armbands. Instead, fast forward to the Warsaw ghetto uprising.
Unlike the 1930s though, the U.S. is not simply sitting on its hands. It is funding the oppression and arming the oppressors. I guess if a special interest group buys enough politicians, anything is possible.
little kids are getting their tiny brains splatted all over the ruined concrete streets of Gaza because Hamas hides behind those little kids. It is in hamas' interest to have civilian casualties. It drives their cause. Hamas brought this disaster to Gaza. Thanks hamas- you do great thing for your own people. Palestinians have been making poor choices on behalf of their people for 60 years or more. They could be celebrating 60 years of nationhood right now, but instead cling the poor judgements that put them in their predicament. like boo-ing their best cheerleader in congress -just the latest in a long line of poor decisions on behalf of the people they represent.
Just because your protesting a righteous cause does not make your protest effective if your protesting the guy who truly give a damn about your cause and has the real power to actually do something about it.
This protest shows the idiocy of some of the fervant supporters of well.. any side really, be it supporters of Israel or Palestine. Fervent supporters of any cause tend to lack keys areas of intelligence with regards to how to actually accomplish their goals.
Keith Ellison is the ONE ally advocates for Palestine have in congress. So do you think its smart to put the ONLY muslim in congress in a situation where it seems like he is favoring one group over the over BECAUSE he is muslim and not because little kids are getting their tiny brains splatted all over the ruined concrete streets of Gaza?
Publicly embarrassing (that's what a protest is, duh) Keith Ellison further isolates him from his weak kneed AIPAC funded colleges in congress.
Idiots!
