Franken won't start work in Washington today, Reid says

All of the new senators start their first day of work today, but one of the Minnesota seats will be empty. Although the state Canvassing Board certfied the vote total with an Al Franken win, his victory isn't official just yet and the Democratic leadership said they wouldn't seat him.

But House Majority Leader Harry Reid made it clear, grade-school style: "Norm Coleman will never ever serve [again] in the Senate," he told Politico.

More from Politico:
"He lost the election. He can stall things, but he'll never serve in the Senate," Reid said.
Reid added that he will not be trying to seat Franken in the Senate on Tuesday. When asked if Franken would be sworn in tomorrow, Reid said: "No."
So Franken will have to be one of the new kids or Coleman will be the super outcast if he somehow can convince the Minnesota Supreme Court to count some more ballots. The drama!
