Record unemployment, a steady stream of layoffs with no end in sight, and a federal government set to compound the woes by hurling an asinine Hail Mary into an already debt-addled economy. Today's headlines are rather grim, no?

From KARE11:

About 9,000 people die of cancer each year in Minnesota, making it the leading cause of death in the state.

But the [American Cancer Society's] report Monday shows efforts to fight breast, prostate and colon cancer have pushed the state's overall cancer death rate down 4 percent each year from 2003 through 2005.
