What's open, closed on Martin Luther King Day

A kind reminder that today is Martin Luther King Day. Here's a handy guide for what is open and closed in the Twin Cities.

From the Star Tribune:

SENDING MAIL:Closed except for the 24-hour office at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Some Express Mail delivered

BANKS: TCF and U.S. Bank traditional and in-store branches are open normal hours. Wells Fargo in-store branches are open normal hours. 

FOOD: Major supermarkets are open. 

SHOPPING: Major malls are open normal hours. 

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Metro Transit buses and light-rail trains will follow regular schedules. For route information, call 612-373-3333 or go to their Web site

METERS: Not enforced in Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, and St. Paul. Minneapolis parks meters will be enforced unless noted on the meter. 

SCHOOLS: Public schools and the University of Minnesota are closed. 

PUBLIC AGENCIES: Local, state and federal offices are closed. 

LIBRARIES:Most are closed. Hennepin County suburban branch libraries are open
