Best Buy cuts 250 HQ jobs, adds 210

Today was the big day of doom at Best Buy headquarters as employees waited to hear if their job was cut. The company told 250 employees their job had been eliminated today, says the Star Tribune.
But the company says they are adding 210 jobs, which means a net loss of just 40 positions. Laid off employees are eligible to apply for the new spots.
More from the Star Tribune:
Spokeswoman Susan Busch said the company would wait until March to announce the cost savings for what amounts to a net loss of 40 jobs. The company now has slashed close to 13 percent of its corporate workforce in recent months as sales at its more than 900 stores have plunged.
