Bachmann donates to NY stimulus-evader

Looks like our most embarrassing local politician is giving money away to a guy known for evading direct questions on his economic policies. Rep. Michele Bachmann gave $1,000 to Ted Tedisco, the Republican New York legislator vying for the Congressional slot left open in recent shuffling of New York politicians.

Tedisco is running in a special election to replace Rep. Kristen Gillibrand in New York's 20th Congressional District. The 20th District seat opened up when New York Governor David Paterson appointed Gillibrand to fill the slot left when Hillary Clinton gave up her Senate seat to become Secretary of State.

The donation came from Bachmann for Congress on March 26.

Tedisco, a New York assemblyman, is known for his evasive stance on taking federal economic stimulus money.

A poll a few days ago shows Tedisco trailing Democrat Scott Murphy in the district; however, voters polled say they think Tedisco will win.
