House passes major tax on AIG bonuses

The U.S. House passed a bill today requiring AIG and any other firms that receiving bailout cash to pay a 90-percent tax on any bonuses paid with the funds. The bill passed 328 to 93.

Minnesota's Rep. Erik Paulsen had created a similar bill that would have required AIG to pay back all of the bonuses paid out to executives. That bill didn't go through.
