Window-smashing RNC protester pleads guilty

Glenn David Dyer, 26, pleaded guilty today of first-degree criminal damage to property during the Republican National Convention. Dyer admitted her intentionally smashed the Macy's display window with a hammer. The charge is a felony.

Dyer of Brooklyn, N.Y., admitted in a series of questions by Ramsey County prosecutor Rick Dusterhoft that he was downtown taking part in protests on Sept. 1 when he began hitting one of the large Macy's windows with a hammer.

His intent was to smash the window, he admitted.

The state made no deal with Dyer, Dusterhoft said. He pleaded guilty as charged.
He will be sentenced May 28 and the judge told him to be prepared to serve time.
