When Bob the cat escaped from his East Bethel home, his owners Shane and Nicole Meide never thought they would see him again. They put up posters and searched for days with no luck.

They eventually gave up and moved to another home. But two years after Bob disappeared, they received a Facebook message from someone saying their cat was safe and sound.

Just when you wish Facebook and all social media would disappear forever, in struts Bob the 20-pound Facebook Feline. It's almost as good as a terribly hungover zombie recovering all of her personal possessions through Facebook after a rough night crawling on the West Bank.

Bob was dropped off at the Coon Rapids Humane Society, but his microchip was outdated and workers were unable to track down his owners. An animal shelter worker searched online for phone numbers and then eventually searched for the owners on Facebook.

And there were Bob's owners. He's home safe two years later.

"We love everything about his personality. We love the size, we love big, fat cats," said Nicole Meide.
