Maddow totally ruins teabagging joke

• Binky, That definition is wrong. Teabagging is almost certainly when someone puts their "sack" onto the face/head (usually) of an unsuspecting person. It rests there... wait for it... like a teabag might. The unsuspecting person has then been officially "teabagged". The "teabagger" is the one who owns the "sack" and is doing the resting. "Teabagging" is the act. Haha, I can't believe i just wrote this post.

• Well... I for one didn't know what tea bagging meant so I went to the Urban dictionary. One of the definitions related to ten guys at a frat house putting the scrotum of a passed out friend into their mouths as a joke. Now I'll admit I am a little bit older than the average sophmore but if I pass out and my friends use my sack as a salt lick then who exactly is the joke actually on really?

• well ms. kaiser, i for one did not get the joke the first time around, and found rachel's commentary on it to be hysterically funny. rachel "snarky?" remember that when you start pointing fingers, there are three pointing back at you.

• walrus, that would be hilarious. did you see the urban dictionary word of the day?

• :"Maybe Maddow doesn't realize that most people got the joke the first time." you missed the point. the people at who the teabagging joke was aimed at (conservative tax protesters) to this day, still haven't gotten the joke. They STILL don't know what teabagging is. And THAT is freaking funny as heck. Only thing that that would be funnier would be the headline "69 teabaggers show up".

• I loved the tea-bagging jokes on Rachel Maddow yes it is high school humor- it's funny. What is really extra hilarious is watching the people do it to themselves...http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/10/tea-party-video-right-win_n_185577.html hmmmm... wonder why the crown seems mostly white and un-educated? huh.

• Honestly, I could be taking it too seriously...I'm having a bad day today. Maybe I have yet to hit the point where I stop getting pissed and just start laughing. I just get sick of the cycle...Republicans in power, make fun of liberal protesters and mock them. Democrats in power, make fun of conservative protesters and mock them. Meanwhile, both parties do basically the same thing, war in Afghanistan and Iraq (Obama says he'll bring them home, and I hope he does), erosion of liberties, health care still broken, and we're scared into giving trillions to Wall Street. Like I said, if McCain did the EXACT same thing in DC, the Democrats would be protesting. The sore spot for me in regards to the Tea Party was that it was thrown into a "Anti-Obama", "Pro-Republican", when it was supposed to be a "please stop f'ing the taxpayers" to BOTH parties (yes, Bush gave the first bailout and Republicans supported it as well).

• I think we're similar in thinking than it appears, Nathan. You're definitely in tune with the blatant hypocrisy emanating from Washington but instead of seeing the humor in it--as they do on MSNBC--you're taking the matter, perhaps, a bit too seriously. Government can't cure the ills of society and politicians who suggest they can are trying to sell you something. It's a ridiculous bit of posturing met by an equally inane response.

• Well, polls, which though can be flawed, are the best way to test public opinion and they say that the majority are indeed against Wall Street bailouts. I've heard the arguments for the influx of taxpayer money into private banks and other financial institutions, and I disagree, but to each his or her own economic philosophy. I just wonder if it would be McCain giving trillions away to private businesses how those that label themselves "Democrats" would feel? No doubt it would be the Republicans defending the policy and the Democrats marching in the streets...people need to start thinking for themselves instead of being blinded by party loyalty (yes, both Repubs and Democrats). If you found connecting Tea Party to "teabagging" brilliant, there is a Junior High full of geniuses down the street from me.

• Don't presume you speak for the "vast majority of Americans." The bailouts have prevented this economic slowdown from turning into a devastating crisis. As for the teabagging commentary--simply brilliant.

• Just sad... Not suprised City Pages would connect "Tea Party" to "Tea Bagging", but a little suprised MSNBC would stoop to the Junior High Humor. When you don't have a comeback because the vast majority of Americans are against bailouts, connect their name to a sexual act and make fun of them. Keep it classy!
