Interested in beautifying your yard, adding home value and maybe knocking off a few bucks on your energy bills? Minneapolis is offering 1,000 residents a tree for their yard for $25.

You can choose from Black Hills spruce, Korean mountain ash, prairie fire crab, accolade elm, bur oak, and mount royal plum trees.

Who doesn't enjoy a cheap tree? And if you think trees aren't worth it, Arbor Day Foundation gives you the details on their benefits.

Order your tree here.

Make sure to read the instructions (like calling about underground wires before you dig). Then you can pick up your tree at the former Franklin Middle School East parking lot, located at 1501 Aldrich Avenue North, Minneapolis, 55411. Volunteers will help you load the tree and free bag of mulch into your vehicle. The tree could be 10 feet tall, so bring a suitable vehicle for the pick up.

Tree pick up days and times:
Saturday, May 9 from 7:00am-3:00pm
Sunday, May 10 from 7:00am-3:00pm
Monday, May 11 from 3:00pm-7:00pm
