I know, personally, had I been down in Fort Myers, Fla. the last six weeks, I likely would not have been very productive.  Surrounded by sun, golf, baseball, drink and distraction - I tend to wander.  That's just me, and of course, I wouldn't be hustling my tail off to accomplish one of the following: make a major league baseball roster, get my timing down, rehab an injury, avoid being the fourth outfielder, prove I can be a starting 37- year-old catcher.

The objectives for our boys, of course, are markedly different.  As the Twins return to action tonight, a look at some of their Spring Training offensive numbers can give one pause.  New arrival Joe Crede, for example, hit just .189 this Spring.  Denard Span?  Just  .190.  Inversely, Jason Kubel smacked to the tune of .365. But does that actually mean anything to the regular season?  And if so: what may that portend?

From an offensive standpoint, here's a look at our present starter's historical Spring Training batting averages dating back to 2002 where applicable, contrasted with their averages in their first month of regular season play, should that have occurred only in either April or May of each respective season.  Such breakdown may offer a glimpse of what we may see for the next month:
