It appears Wisconsin might have another case of a man's sleepwalking death linked to a prescription sleep aid. In January, we reported the death of a man who walked outside barefoot in below-zero temps and was found dead after taking sleeping pills.
An Oshkosh, Wis. woman believes her husband went sleepwalking after taking a prescription sleeping pill and drowned in the Fox River. Authorities have yet to recover the man's body.
More from the Associated Press:
Cherie Merkes says her 55-year-old husband, Michael Merkes, had been feeling tired and sick before he disappeared Saturday. She says he took a prescription sleep aid Friday night and they agreed he would go to a walk-in clinic Saturday if he did not feel better.Merkes thinks her husband drove to the river while sleeping and walked into the river.
Instead, she woke Saturday to find him missing from their home in the town of Black Wolf. Police found his car near the Fox River about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
