Billboard pressures Pawlenty to sign election certificate

Commuters on Interstate 94 will now have a constant reminder that Gov. Tim Pawlenty has the ultimate power to sign the state's election certificate for Al Franken to ensure the state fills their U.S. Senate seat as soon as possible.

The Alliance for a Better Minnesota will unveil the billboard at the SE corner of 94 and Snelling Avenue this morning. MN AFL-CIO, AFSCME Council 5, Working America, and SEIU MN State Council are also part of the campaign. A similar campaign by Americans United for Change produced a TV ad with a similar angle that called on Pawlenty to sign the election certificate immediately if Franken is declared the winner again by the Minnesota Supreme Court.

We hope this group at least hired a spell checker for their ad. We wouldn't want them facing similar shame for asking "Govenor" Pawlenty to sign the certificate.
