President Obama's pick for the next Supreme Court justice to replace Justice David Souter hasn't been named quite yet, so there's nothing stopping the political pundits and bloggers from talking up their short lists of possible picks. And you might be surprised to hear that our very own Sen. Amy Klobuchar has been mentioned as a possible choice.

Klobuchar's name has been mentioned on some blogs in addition to CNN. So what does Klobuchar have to say about it? She's got the knack for a little bit of humor these days in light of her current position as Minnesota's lone senator.

Here is what she had to say to the Pioneer Press:
"It is always an honor to have your name out there, but I think Minnesota deserves at least one senator," Klobuchar said.

She did not go beyond that response despite further questions about the speculation.

But she did say a little more about what she is looking for in President Barack Obama's eventual nominee.

"Someone who is eminently qualified, someone who is smart and who is up to the challenges of the court, and someone who brings some life experience to the court where they've been out there in the real world," Klobuchar said.
Klobuchar also stressed the importance of adding more diversity to the court, including more women. But she also doesn't want that to be Obama's main reason for his pick as they should also be well-qualified for the position.

Would Klobuchar make a good Supreme Court addition?
