In this ongoing series of looking back at the Twins lifetime in the Metrodome before moving to Target Field next season, Part 1 featured a discussion with Dome Senior Structural Engineer Stan Korista.  Today, via great efforts in the ways of dining and imbibing, Part 2 of the series takes a look at the contrasting concession costs at the Dome, dating from the first ever ballgame held at the stadium (exhibition vs. the Phillies), compared with today's costs.  As you'll no doubt note, gentle reader, the baggie ain't the only thing inflated . . ..

Thrown in for good measure is a brief look at what we'll see in the future, as well.  Many thanks go to Ms. Bobbi Ellenberg and the fine folks at MSFC for their help with this research.

The Future .  . .

Target Field concessions are being operated by Delaware North Companies out of Buffalo, N.Y., a global leader in the sporting venue food business.  While their Minneapolis menu is still several months from being completed, a Delaware spokesman was, in brief, able to share the following at this time:

"I can confirm we will have two staples -- beer-steamed brats and fried cheese curds -- and many others that we will be talking more about later this year."
