Coleman allowed to use campaign funds to pay legal bills

The FEC has ruled that it will let Coleman use some of his campaign funds to pay his many legal bills, including those from the FBI investigation into his campaign donors. Talk about robbing Peter to obstruct investigation of Paul.

The decision comes at a potentially critical time for Coleman, who is still battling Al Franken in court over last November's election results in the Minnesota Senate race. The two are awaiting a decision before the Minnesota Supreme Court, and many legal experts believe that Franken will maintain his 312-vote lead in the long-running race.
