Baseball is the all-American dad-son sport. Except when dad is driving you home with an alleged blood-alcohol content reading more than 4 times the legal limit.

Joseph Mathew Lenz, 44, allegedly blew a .375 after police stopped him leaving a Lake Elmo park with his son in the car last month. He has been charged with drunk driving and child endangerment.

As if this story wasn't weird enough, the son's mother is the one who told her friend to call police to report him after she thought he was drunk. And she still let her son get in the car with him.

More from KSTP:
A Washington County sheriff's deputy responding to the call stopped Lenz. The deputy reported Lenz had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Lenz allegedly told the deputy that he had had a few drinks but that he was okay to drive.

He insisted the deputy administer the breath test.

After the test, Lenz was arrested and taken to Dakota County Detox.
Lenz has two prior DWI convictions and could face one year in prison and a $3,000 fine.
