Joel Pourier, former executive director of the Minneapolis Oh Day Aki/Heart of the Earth school, is charged with embezzling $1.38 million from the school to spend it on houses, cars, and strip club adventures. Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek said "this is just about as bad as it gets."

A single gun shot from outside a Metro Transit bus near downtown Minneapolis injured two passengers. There was an argument on the Route 5 bus at Chicago Avenue South and East 15th Street, which led to one passenger exiting through the rear door. As he left, he turned and fired one shot back into the bus. No information yet if the injured riders were the intended targets.
Name change: St. Catherine University
The St. Paul private school that was known as College of St. Catherine for 104 years made their scheduled name change Monday. They are now officially known as St. Catherine University. And we'll continue to just call it St. Kate's.
