Man allegedly breaks into home, licks 11-year-old boy's belly button

We have the official creep of the week story to brighten your gloomy Wednesday morning. An Inver Grove Heights man faces several felony charges after he allegedly entered a neighbor's home and licked the 11-year-old boy's belly button at knife point.

The boy told police that James Albert Silbernagel, 41, lived down the street from the home he lives in with his mother. He had come by earlier in the day to use the phone and then returned a couple times and asked if the boy could walk his dog. After walking the dog, the boy came home and took a shower.

Silbernagel then allegedly entered the home while the boy was showering and knocked on the bathroom door, asking if he could use the phone again. He asked the boy to open the door and then pulled out a knife and told the boy to take his towel off. When he refused, Silbernagel licked his belly button.

The boy asked if he could put clothes on and the suspect followed him into his room. the boy was able to escape to a neighbor's house and call police. Authorities found Silbernagel in the home and arrested him.

Silbernagel faces felony charges of first-degree burglary with a dangerous weapon, first-degree burglary with assault and second-degree criminal sexual conduct in the incident Thursday.

When police found Silbernagel in the home, he was in a bedroom and smelled of alcohol. Police found two condoms and a folding knife in his pockets.

Silbernagel was booked into the Dakota County jail. Bail was set at $150,000 without conditions or $100,000 with conditions.
