Minnesota's embarrassing world record: Longest ATV parade

• It's not the fact you don't enjoy the same activity. I respect that not all are into the sport and have other interests. It's your attitude towards the accomplishment and effort it took to make this happen. There was no mention that this was also a boost for the food shelves as everyone was asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

• Lots of nice people visited Silver Bay last weekend and had a wonderful time. The residents of the city were great hosts, gracious and inviting. Best of all the event was a total success! But now we have a blog writer with a snide little attitude about ATV riders and a place to post her little jabs at good people. Emily, you might want to check that attitude at the door. After all, you work for a little known website that advertises sexual appliances on it's home page. On second thought, maybe you should invest in one. (-:

• "That total smashed the previous record of 1,138 ATVs in Kentucky. But don't act totally impressed with Minnesota's accomplishment. This wasn't a fluke. This same organization attempted to break the record last year, but missed by 55 vehicles. That says something, doesn't it? " Yes it says as Minnesotans we don't give up and quit. What have you ever organized or participated in other than spouting garbage.

• Sad commentary in a state home to two ATV manufacturers - companies that employ thousands of people in Minnesota. Yet you dig "Most tattoos"? LMAO I won't "act" totally impressed; I'll "be" totally impressed ... when someone begins editing your work.

• If a large group of enthusiasts has an event to break a world record and leaves you feeling embarrassed? WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE! How pompous and arrogant of you. You know nothing of our sport of adventure. You know nothing about us. We are outdoor enthusiasts who banded together in camaraderie and spirit. We get off the couch and DO things. Take your online (= anyone can do it) byline and write about roller blades in a park or some other citified achievement. We will be out in the woods and on the trails.

• Woody Allen said, �80 percent of success is showing up.� Well, I showed up and I�m going to be in the Guinness Book of World Records. In your case Emily showing up doesn�t seem to be working for you.

• Wow, I didn�t know that my enjoyment for riding an ATV would equate me with a lack of talent. Since my participation in the Longest ATV Parade was �embarrassing� by your standards, I wonder what would constitute a true accomplishment in your eyes. You didn�t mention the food donations that riders made to the Food Shelf in Silver Bay. But while your trivial little blog took a stab at good people with �hick roots�, you also failed to mention the whole event was a memorial to C.J. Ramstad and his son John. CJ�s love of snowmobiling and ATVing was well known throughout Minnesota. You might even be interested the fact that CJ was an owner/publisher of many snowmobile and off-road magazines here in our state. (maybe your in-depth research missed that?) I�m sorry that ATVAM�s record breaking event wasn�t impressive enough for you Emily. Frankly, your article wasn�t impressive by my standards. When you make the move from writing �filler� for online blogs to real journalism complete with research and factual information, let me know.

• I'm sorry if us "hicks" up north didn't meet your standard.But the people that participated were from all walks of life,white collar and blue. If it bothers you so much to make a comment about it maybe you need to expand your interest a little and see that there is life outside of the cities. Have a good day.
