Stinky compost traps Chanhassen residents in their homes

Some Chanhassen residents are putting up a stink about a nearby compost created by the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. They say the smell is so bad they feel trapped in their own homes and the children refuse to play outside because it feels like they are eating manure when they breathe hard. OK we made that part up, but we can almost guarantee a kid would say such a thing about a smelly compost stinking up their swing set.

Theoretically compost piles shouldn't even smell bad, so something must be wrong in the 'burbs. Either way, we can understand being a little upset when it smells like there are cows in your backyard.

One resident lays down the obvious: "Poop is poop". We hear you, sister.
