Drop everything you are doing and go dump out all standing water in your yard. Tires, buckets, cans, bird baths, old pots. There could be disease-carrying Japanese invaders breeding in your backyard. And you don't want that, do you?

The state Health Department says the Japanese rock pool mosquito has officially invaded Minnesota and those little shits can transmit the LaCrosse encephalitis virus and West Nile virus to humans.

The mosquito was accidentally imported into the United States a few years back and now they have made five Minnesota counties their home. And they could be coming to a backyard near you.

And this mosquito is a tough one. Their eggs can officially survive our painfully cold winters, ready to spring to life when the temperatures rise.

So go clear your property of standing water. It's the American thing to do.
