Rep. Keith Ellison had quite a week. And we're not talking about his questionable trip abroad. The man is raking in the federal bucks. By adding up the titles in this week's set of press releases, our smiley representative has secured more than $1 million. Booyah!

Here we go with the list:

July 21st--

Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minneapolis) secured another two major appropriations for the Fifth District - $500,000 to help develop a new transit hub in downtown Minneapolis and $250,000 to begin planning for the Bottineau Transitway, a new light rail line between downtown Minneapolis and the Northwest Suburbs.

July 23rd--

Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minneapolis) secured a $250,000 appropriation for the Minneapolis Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) long-term care demonstration project.  The funds will be used to address family caregiver services and highlight ways to reduce or delay the need for institutional long-term care for seniors.

July 24th--

Congressman Keith Ellison (D-Minneapolis) secured a $300,000 appropriation for the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC).   The funds will provide for a new state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen chamber and its associated facility.

Total: $1.3 million. Bam. Somebody fund that guy another trip to Mecca. He deserves the break.
