Suspicious death is Minneapolis's 6th homicide

The man found dead in his Minneapolis apartment Monday was murdered, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner has determined.

Juan Francisco Canas Ramirez, 32, died Monday evening of multiple sharp force injuries. The Minneapolis Police initially ruled his death suspicious; the Medical Examiner confirmed that Ramirez is the city's sixth homicide this year.

On Monday, June 29, an ambulance responded to a medical call at an apartment in the 5700 block of Bossen Terrace. By the time the ambulance got there, Ramirez was dead.

The Minneapolis Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating the case, but has not yet made any arrests. Anyone with information about the case contact the TIPS line at 612.692.TIPS (8477).
