A Wisconsin woman faces homicide charges after she allegedly ran over a man lying in the road while she was driving drunk. Only in Wisconsin, folks.

Lori Young, 46, struck and killed Aaron Bourget, 28, Sunday morning. She also faces three misdemeanor charges.

What a confluence of events. Drunk driver and person who decides to pass out in the road? In Wisconsin no less!

More from the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram:
According to the Chippewa County sheriff's office, Bourget was lying on Highway G in the town of Colburn, north of Stanley, at 3:38 a.m. Sunday. Bourget had apparently stopped his car in the middle of the highway -- across the double yellow lines -- and got out of the vehicle, lying on the road. Young was traveling south on the highway when she struck Bourget.

Homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. Young was charged with operating a motor vehicle after revocation causing death, which carries a maximum penalty of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine. She also was charged with her third drunken-driving offense, and operating after revocation, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $2,500 fine.
Another driver spotted Bourget passed out in the road and drove a short distance to get cell phone reception to call police. The accident happened shortly after the person left the scene.
