A puppy was shot in the face in Wheaton, Minn. and a rescue organization is looking for a new home once the golden retriever mix is healthy again.

The 8-week-old female puppy, named Carly, is coming to the Twin Cities for veterinary care.

A good Samaritan rescued the pup and contacted Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota after police found the dog with wounds to its face by a BB gun or buckshot. The dog is currently drinking, but not eating.

"We want to get her to the cities, assess her physical and emotional wounds, and get her whatever care she needs," said Michele Stepien, Executive Director of Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota in a FOX9 report. "Then, we will need to find a special home that will be able to help her become a happy, well-adjusted dog."

If you are interesting in adopting Carly or donating to the medical bills, contact RAGOM.
