The tornado that struck several northern Twin Cities suburbs caused an estimated $2 million in damages to homes and businesses, city leaders said. The tornado left a nine-mile path through Long Lake, Plymouth, and Orono Saturday night.

Weather analysts say the tornado was an EF1 with winds at 86 to 110 miles per hour.

Orono had $1.1 million in damage, according to the city's police chief. There were 23 homes with structural damage.

Long Lake has yet to state an official figure, but estimates it would bring the total damage to $2 million. There were about seven businesses damaged there.

In Plymouth, the tornado damaged more than 40 homes.

No injuries or deaths have been reported from the storms.
