Couple busted driving drunk with seven unbuckled kids

​ We (along with every media organization imaginable) warned drunk drivers to stay off the roads unless you wanted to be caught as police picked up enforcement this holiday weekend. Apparently we all should have stressed that if you choose to ignore the warning, please don't bring children along for the ride.

Police say they busted a man and his girlfriend Sunday in Minneapolis driving drunk. When they pulled over the car, they found seven children in the backseat. The kids ranged in age from 1- to 13-years-old and not a single one was buckled in.

A witness said they saw the Chevy Suburban jump a curb and run through the grass at 41st and Aldrich Avenue North.

The couple says they got into an argument and police say his girlfriend yanked the steering wheel.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of child neglect, drunk driving, and violating a no contact order taken out by the girlfriend. She was also jailed for suspected child neglect.
