Minnesotans embrace greasy grub, State Fair sets all-time attendance record

​ Maybe it was the perfect weather, the "staycations" due to the poor economy, or lifelong fans bringing state fair virgins along for the adventure. But we're just proud to say Minnesotans went all-out this year and ate a disgusting amount of greasy grub in just 12 days of bliss.

The Minnesota State Fair beat the all-time attendance record set in 2001. According to the state fair Web site, 1,790,497 people came through the gates this year. The 2001 record was 1,762,976.

At least you can rest assured knowing that most Minnesotans are also just as bloated as you are from overeating cheese curds and lemonade. Where are the gym membership deals when you need them?
