Federal investigators interviewed the captain and first officer of the flight on Sunday, but there have yet to be any public comments on what they said. Delta Airlines officials told the New York Times they now doubt the men fell asleep. They had a 17-hour layover in San Diego before the flight.
The pilots of Northwest 188 were Capt. Timothy B. Cheney, 53, of Gig Harbor, Wash., and First Officer Richard I. Cole, 54, of Salem, Ore.
In a brief statement, Cole said they were not asleep and no argument took place. So seriously guys. What happened?
Here is the latest NBC report, including that statement:

The flight attendants will be interviewed in the next few days. Due to the severity of the incident, the Federal Aviation Administration has warned both pilots that their licenses could be suspended based on the investigation findings.
