Eden Prairie's Lion's Tap Restaurant was appalled when they saw billboards for McDonalds near their location proclaiming "Who's Your Patty?" in a multimillion-dollar ad campaign for their new Angus burger. The local restaurant with only one location claims they have been using that slogan for four years, have it trademarked in Minnesota and have submitted a federal application for it as well.

The Lion's Tap owners sued the Fortune 500 company over the dispute, trying to force the burger giant to pay up for stealing their words. But McDonalds doesn't seem to care and won't even pretend to be worried. This is small town BS in their world.

More from the Star Tribune:
McDonald's, based in Oak Brook, Ill., has not responded to the complaint, filed Aug. 28 in Minneapolis federal court. But in an e-mail Thursday, McDonald's said "we are working to resolve this matter and find an amicable resolution."

"Beyond that, it would be inappropriate to further speculate or comment on pending legal matters," said Greg Miskiel, a McDonald's representative.
