Minneapolis home overrun by foster chickens

​ Minnesota Public Radio has an interesting story/video up today about a Minneapolis woman who has turned her home into a space for foster chickens. She says the urban chicken coop movement has many city dwellers buying chickens for the fresh eggs and then dumping the animals when they realize it's a lot of work.

Her basement houses most of the 15 chickens at night, but one sleeps in a kid's pen in the living room. Their spare bathroom is a "quarantine" room when they first arrive.

Mary Britton Clouse started Chicken Run Rescue and has found families to adopt 600 birds she helped rehabilitate.

The shot of her massaging a chicken's foot is not to be missed.
