I am so disappointed in the City Pages right now. If you can't find more than 10 reasons to hate the Yankees, then you are not doing your jobs. I understand you're still hungover from yesterday's hangover remedy for Sunday's hangover, but you've got to pull it together, folks!
In the interest of brevity, however, the list probably shouldn't exceed 400 reasons or so...

Posted On: Wednesday, Oct. 7 2009 @ 3:10PMWhat does Torre going to the Dodgers have anything to do with reasons to hate the Yankees? Yes, he used to be their manager and he left the organization because the Steinbrenners are on the downhill slide.
You said it yourself, he is a good manager, actually calling him "one of the most respected figures in baseball," so please tell me how this is incentive to hate the Yankees? Look at Joe Girardi... there's a reason to hate the Yankees.
Posted On: Wednesday, Oct. 7 2009 @ 3:39PMI get the Torre thing; the guy takes you to the playoffs all those years and you give him a pay cut because he hasn't won a title for a few years. Get real -- show some respect to the guy. That just says to me that the Yanks don't have the communal sense that we do. If we had a guy here (and Gardy's not that far off, although no rings) with those results, would we ever be so crass as to just kick him to the curb?
Posted On: Wednesday, Oct. 7 2009 @ 4:56PMHmm, do I detect the odor of sour grapes? Sure, the Yanks have a big payroll. We want to win! And as far as class goes, the best evidence you can find is Chuck Knoblauch?!! The Yankees are the epitome of class (how come you omitted the fact that Jeter, the Captain, is one of the most well liked and respected players in the sport, no, in ANY sport?) We fans certainly are partisan, but always sportsmanlike. And, for the record, Johnny wanted to stay in Boston, but they didn't respect him enough to keep him. Their loss, our gain. Looking foward to winning game 3 and the series in your beautiful city!
Posted On: Thursday, Oct. 8 2009 @ 5:46PMWho can resist a guy who is powered by 2% Milk over a bunch of over-paid dudes!! It's great to have an athlete that you can admire. Joe Mauer is definitely one of those athletes.
Posted On: Thursday, Oct. 8 2009 @ 10:15PMThe Yankees new stadium was built on a public park and 377 mature trees had to be cut down. While our Twins used a parking lot and are working towards getting LEED Certification. The Yankee stadium is the only recently built MLB stadium not to attempt to obtain LEED Certification. http://www.conservationminnesota.org/news/?id=4012#Twins

The only other people that feel the way you do are fellow Yankees fans. You're a prime example of baseball jingoism. You can't even look in the mirror and see why the Yankees are so reviled by everyone else.
Posted On: Wednesday, Oct. 14 2009 @ 11:11AMBaseball cap and Yankee dominance will be finished forever. What a dream!
Posted On: Friday, Dec. 18 2009 @ 2:27PMYou made some good points there. I did a search on the topic and found most people will agree with your blog.
